Frequently Asked Questions
Do you do custom builds?
Generally no. I focus on creating projects for my family, then turning those builds into plans, articles, and videos to help others. Custom projects may be considered on occasion, but it’s not the main focus of my business. I do usually take on a couple of mailbox builds in my local area each year.
Do you mail plans?
No. All plans are delivered as a digital PDF file, available for immediate download after purchase and also sent to your email. Plans are not mailed as physical copies. You can view them on your device or print them in landscape format. Each plan is in color and usually runs between 10–25 pages.
Will you create a one-off design based on your plans?
Generally no. Unless I’ve built and tested the design myself, I don’t feel comfortable creating a variation. There are too many variables at play. For example, I wouldn’t create a king-size bed design from my twin-size bed plans, or change my golf rack to fit just one or three bags without building and verifying it first.
I like your 3D prints, will you make a custom version for me?
I’ll do my best. If you’re looking for a specific hose size, battery holder, or tool adapter, chances are others may be too, and I’d love to add it to my inventory.
I bought a plan set and am stuck on a step. What should I do?
This is one of my favorite things to help with. If my build article or YouTube video wasn’t detailed enough, or the plans are missing a key step, let me know and I’ll help you out. I’ll also update and republish the media so it’s clearer for future builders.
What is the cost of materials to build a piece from the plan set?
It really depends on where you live and the type of wood you choose, so I can’t give an exact number. At the bottom of every build article, I’ve included links to the non-wood items I used. If you’re unsure, feel free to reach out. I’m happy to share the quantities so you can figure out the cost in your area with your preferred wood species.
